iWent To Watch Zena Edwards' Show 'Security' Last Night in Manchester.
Couple of months before I missed her workshop with our poetry group 'Young Identity' and i was pissed but hey, you cant miss what you dont know right?! lol
From start to finish i was engaged by her piece. In which told a story of 4 characters who lived in the same area in the heart of London. That came to have an unexpected friendship which confronts issues of security & identity.
The way she perfomed the characters was exqusite, she was switching accents, movement and body language it was a just mindblowing, shes you know that “scary talented”.

At the end of the show i asked her what inspired her to write and she said:
“ I have to write; some people go jogging, read a book to relax, but my thing is writing. The pages don't judge you, you can be yourself when you write. If im not free on page then within my self im not free.”
That was the best response EVER and now im very GUTTED! That I missed her when she did her workshop with my group I could have learnt alot but im glad I watched her show.
I reccomend people keep an eye on her she’s destined for great things.
